Message from the President of MOCAAPI

Dear Colleagues,
It is indeed a pleasure and privilege for me to get this opportunity to serve our organization as the Fourth President for the years 2009 and 2010. Our past presidents, Drs. Mate, Sancheti and Dhawlikar have sure started us off on a firm footing and now it is upon us to advance their great work ahead.
We have grown into an organization which represents more than 400 physicians of Indian origin who work or live in the Monmouth and Ocean counties of New Jersey. We are an approved local chapter of the
American Association of Physicians of Indian Origin (AAPI).
The mission of our organization is to serve as a forum to facilitate and enable Indian American physicians to excel in patient care, teaching and research, and to pursue their aspirations in professional and community affairs.
Our membership is growing every year. Amongst us we have a collective experience of physicians from all specialities and in all stages of their careers. It is my endeavor that we all develop into one very large extended family. I would like us all to share and enjoy our successes and offer support to each other when we need it.
In 2007 we had our first successful charitable golf outing and we are looking forward to our
Second Charitable Golf outing this July. This would raise funds for our charitable activities. We have appointed a Charitable Committee who is planning to roll out our charitable programs. To start off we plan to hold several free health screening fairs for the needy here in Monmouth and Ocean counties.
We also have several other exciting events planned for this year. Please check our
Events calendar periodically for updates. MOCAAPI is planning to host its First Annual Gala this year during the fall.
We are redesigning our website this year. The new website would be user friendly, dynamic, interactive and content managed website. It would also have several advertisement opportunities for local businesses to connect with our physicians and also help MOCAAPI in its mission. Please return often for updates.
An organization is only as strong as its members. I encourage you all to
join if you are not already a member. And most importantly participate, get involved and volunteer for something. I also encourage your comments so that the MOCAAPI website can become an even more valuable resource for its members.
